A few years ago, we were looking for a company to help us with our website, especially in making it more attractive, beneficial and useful to our customers. We attended a LMC show and ran into Don Smith and the eShowroom crew. This program has been a perfect fit for Doug Ashy Building Materials. There are a lot of features we like about the showroom, easy to update, wide variety of vendors to select from, but the feature we like best is the request a quote. It allows customers to email us with any building materials quote they need from millwork, lumber to hardware. Through the years, we probably have a 70 percent closure rate on these request a quotes, they have generated a lot of business for us.

Request a Quote is working well for us. It amazes me that 11:00 PM on Saturday night, I get a request a quote email to my phone. Then, I think about it and realize that the person finally got some time to their self (kids are in bed, work things are done, etc.) and wants to get information on what they are thinking about doing. So this is a lot of what makes request a quote work so well for us, the customer can contact us at their convenience but get an answer to what they are thinking about or want to do.

The addition of the Bargain Bin option to our website is a great way for Hamilton Building Supply to sell off odd-lot, discontinued or returned items that we are stuck with. We’d tried other methods of listing these items on our site, like a PDF list or a cumbersome spreadsheet, but they were difficult for potential customers to use, difficult to update and didn’t provide product images. The Bargain Bin site allows us to quickly upload, sort and keep track of these items easily, and the response has been great. Often when clients email us through eShowroom regarding the Bargain Bin, it results in a sale. If not of the item they’re looking at, a new item instead. Either way it helped us gain a customer.
